Illustration of search visibility and website page structure

Start with one intent per page

A page should answer one search intent clearly. Product pages, tutorials, comparisons, and support articles should live at distinct URLs with distinct titles, descriptions, headings, and calls to action.

1. Make the architecture crawlable

Use readable slugs, link related articles and product pages, keep important URLs out of behind-search states, and publish an XML sitemap that mirrors your canonical routes.

/blog/category/tutorial
/sitemap.xml

2. Write metadata for people first

Put the primary phrase near the beginning of the title, explain the benefit in the description, and use one unambiguous h1. Metadata should promise exactly what the page can deliver.

3. Mark up the entity

Add structured data for articles, products, authors, and breadcrumbs. It helps search engines understand relationships that are obvious to users but invisible in plain text.

4. Measure traffic that converts

Track rankings with signups, checkout starts, and documentation completion. A smaller amount of high-intent traffic is usually more valuable than a broad visit count with no product action.
